Limited spaces are available to join a very special and rare extended small group offering with 8 fabulous days liveaboard diving with renowned Emmy Award underwater photographers couple David Parer and Liz Parer-Cook joining Andrew Fox onboard The Princess II at the Neptune Islands.

The Itinerary includes unsurpassed photographic opportunities over eight days of Peak Season Great white shark diving and an Australian sea lion dive.

What we love about this time of year:

Extreme Shark Reliability

This time period has enjoyed 100% reliability of productive sharks in more than 10 years.

- MAXIMUM Shark Numbers

This time period has enjoyed dives with some of the most numbers of sharks seen in a dive during the last few years.

- Typically A Mild Weather Month.

This mid Spring period tends to enjoy mild weather conditions, avoiding some of the sea breezes typical of Summer and yet less potential for any Winter-like storms. October also enjoys very reliable Australian Sea Lion diving weather.

- Typically Clearer Water

At the offshore Neptune Islands, the clearest water of the year up to 30+ m often occurs during our early to mid Spring months.

- Photographic Opportunities

Optimal photographic conditions of typically good visibility and strong daylight.

All the briefings and travel to our first dive location are covered on the first evening.

Four full days are dedicated to Great White Shark Diving at both the North and South Neptune Islands groups, at the various reef, weed bank, and sandy bottom locations.

A half day is planned to target Australian Sea Lions at Hopkins Island.

Andrew hopes to identify all the new sharks and with the help of all guests photograph as many as possible for recording in the Fox Shark Research Foundation ID catalog.

Also included is a beautiful tour around the pretty Neptune Island fur seal colonies with our tender boat. Conditions permitting, a walking tour is also a possible option up on the Neptune Islands, a treat exclusive to Rodney Fox Expeditions.

At night, we enjoy great local food and wine, a shark research and photography talk or two from Andrew Fox, beautiful sunsets plus lots of time to relax onboard under the stars.

Day 1

We’ll meet you at the Marina Hotel, Port Lincoln at 10:30 AM, catch a Taxi straight to the vessel and also board at 10::30 PM. We officially welcome all aboard at 10:30 AM and yall guests are shown to their cabins where they can unload before the formal introductions and safety talk.

We then depart and travel through the spectacular scenery of the Thorny Passage and nearby Hopkins Island where we expect to have frolicking sea lions eager to meet us. For an hour or so there is an option to snorkel/dive with these adorable creatures in shallow sheltered waters.

Then, time and weather permitting we can either try another dive location or then make haste to anchor down at the Neptune Islands, where we’ll be looking to focus on the sharks.

Days 2-7

Shark Divers are briefed, and the cages hit the water early, ready for action! Our priority for everyone on this tour is to maximize productive time photographing and filming great white sharks. Ocean Floor cage divers will have the opportunity to partake in up to 3 deep dives each day. Advanced and Pro Shooters with large cameras will be specially catered for with extra crew assistance and training to allow opportunities not normally granted on other Rodney Fox Tours.

Surface cage divers are also given opportunities between deep dives, and after and while our SCUBA certified diving guests descend down in the ocean floor cage.  However advanced shooters and Ocean Floor Divers will be given extra priority and cage time in surface cages and the Ocean Floor at most times of this extended tour.

At night we download our pictures relax, unwind, talk about the day while feasting on the buffet, engage in the a Great White Shark Research Talk and presentation by our hosts. (really interesting, with some fantastic photography), check out the amazing night-sky, and retire to your cabin ready for the next days adventures.

We will also like to hop in the tender boat, check out the Fur Seals and go walking around the Neptune Islands one day. Here, there are many bird and a few reptile species to watch and the elusive Australian Sea Lions can also sometimes be spotted.

Our live-aboard itinerary gives so many more opportunities to immerse your self in the beauty of the Neptune Islands, listening to the sounds of the seals with a chilled glass of white. There is plenty of opportunities to dive, but also plenty of time to chill out and rest. Hit the hay when you feel like it... and get up when you feel like it.

Day 8 ( Last Day)

Last Dives, and leave the Neptune Islands by 3:00pm and enjoy the cruise on the bow’ often with common dolphins joining us for company.

We arrive back in Port Lincoln before 7:30 PM for guests to disembark.
