We will complete our safety introduction talk as well as have all passengers get nice and comfortable in their cabins. Depending on our first destination we then depart at a time during the night.

Day 2

Journey to a choice of locations, to dive with jetty critters (including the leafy sea dragon). Then overnight travel to Upper Spencer Gulf.

Day 3

Arrive on location at a unique gathering place of the world’s greatest cuttlefish spawning phenomenon. Thousands of giant Australian cuttlefish aggregate in the shallows of the upper Spencer Gulfs clear shallow waters, a photographer's fantasy, and one of nature's most flamboyant mating spectacles. Guests will travel onboard the MV Rodney Fox to this destination to have the advantages of live aboard boat access to the optimal locations for viewing, photography and filming.  *This activity will heavily depend on the weather for each individual expedition and in poor travelling conditions or if we are short on time we will potentially consider this activity via coach and land based diving access.

Days 4 to 8

A focus on great white Sharks at both North and South Neptune Islands. This is peak season for a chance to see giant mature female sharks. Topside viewing, surface cage diving and descending down in our world exclusive ocean floor cage (on SCUBA) will provide an unsurpassed insight into the lives of these still mysterious animals.

There will also always be an option to revisit the sea lions and jetties and enjoy a beautiful tour around the pretty Neptune Islands in our tender boat or on the islands themselves with an exclusive walking tour on the Neptune Islands. The playful fur seal pups who are newly learning to swim offshore at this time of year (after being born in the previous summer) make captivating photographic subjects.

Day 9

After another day diving with what ever species/location the weather best serves us, we return to port overnight. Divers have dinner and accommodation is provided onboard overnight.

Day 10

Disembark anytime before 9:00AM in Port Lincoln after a Continental breakfast.

*Please note that the itinerary and all activities and species visited are weather dependent and flexible to group wishes.

** Note: In recent years this time of the year and the locations we visit ( like Tumby Bay) we have been less reliable to see the leafy sea dragons.  For those divers wishing to focus on this particular species we offer other extended tours between November and March each year that forsake the cuttlefish element.
