ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS

Celebrate the life of scuba legend Jacques Cousteau. Born June 11th, 1910 – Passed June 25th, 1997, Jacques inspired generations to explore and protect the ocean. Rodney Fox Expedition business partner and chief curator and owner of Rodney Fox & Mark Tozer’s Museum & Research Centre in Adelaide will personally be onboard to be part of the festivities.

This special Peak Big Girl Season 5-night/6-day safari has some extra French flavour. Featuring French cuisine including croissants, vin rouge, commemorative red beanies and a special viewing of ‘The Life Aquatic’.

·       This tour is perfect for people who are looking for an intimate great white shark experience (and want to maximize their time at sea) and learn a lot about these magnificent creatures and of course, have fun celebrating all things, Jacques Cousteau. 

·       On this expedition you'll use the world’s only ocean floor cage (for qualified divers only), and all guests are able to get up-close and personal with great whites in the surface cage.

·       It's a trip for people who are very interested in sharks and their behaviour, experienced divers, adventurers, shark photographers and anyone who, like us, has a passion for these incredible creatures.

·       Unlimited time in the surface cage. 

·       In the Ocean Floor dives, each dive is approximately 40 minutes with a 30-minute bottom time and a five-minute safety stop.

The Itinerary

Day 1: JUNE 12th – 1:30 AM departure, Welcome Aboard in Port Lincoln Harbour
We collect guests from various Port Lincoln Accommodation from 1:00 pm for check-in and boarding. Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour.

Travel through the stunning Thorny Passage to our first overnight anchorage at picturesque Memory Cove.

Please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable. 

Days 2, 3, 4 ,5, 6 – Great White Shark Diving at the Neptune Islands
Here, we snorkel/dive with playful Australian sea lions in their sheltered shallow bay. Afterwards, we set course for the offshore Neptune Islands—our shark-diving base for the next few days.

Evening: relaxed dinner and stargazing on deck. Surface cage dives provide close encounters for everyone, while certified SCUBA divers can descend into the ocean-floor cage for an unforgettable perspective. Also, enjoy tender boat trips to see long-nosed fur seals and (weather permitting) a special Neptune Island walking tour.

Enjoy hands-on time with authentic gear from Mark Tozer’s personal archive and presentations from Mark Tozer.

There will also be shark research and photography presentations, delicious meals, South Australian wine, and time to unwind under the unparalleled stars of the remote Southern Ocean.

Evening of June 17th – Return to Port – Disembark in Port Lincoln
Disembark between 7:00 to 8:00 PM. Bus transfers are offered to the Port Lincoln Accommodation.

Subject to timing, guests flying out or staying in Adelaide before or after the tour are offered a complimentary guided visit to the Rodney Fox & Mark Tozer’s Museum & Research Centre in Adelaide. Mark has assembled a very special collection of oceanic wonders and memorabilia, including prominent historical artifacts from early expeditions.
